TRACE Suites : A Luxury Hotel in Los Banos, Laguna

Laguna has always been popular for its natural spring waters, private pools, and resorts. Whenever people would go to Laguna, passing by the different Buko Pie and Cassava stores are always part of the route and agenda. Truly, Laguna is a place where most people spend their vacations. Lately, many people have been talking about a "hidden" luxury hotel in Laguna. They say that its so luxurious, you would be so shocked that the rates are very low. The place I am talking about is TRACE Suites. It is a 5-star hotel, located in Traceville, El Danda St., Batong Malake, Los Banos, Laguna. When you visit the place, you will be welcomed with warm smiles and quality service as their attendants would always make sure that their customers' needs are met. The place is so big that (if requested) they would drive you, using a golf cart, to the swimming pool, courts, gym, and other sports facilities. All the aquatic sports of the last 2005 SEA Games were held there.

Filipina Soul also wrote about the place, and it was also featured in Laguna Tourism.

Trace Suites

Their selection of cuisines are marvelous! From Filipino, to American, to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean! My favorite meal from the menu is their Chicken Cordon Bleu. I have never tasted any Cordon Bleu that delicious! For breakfast, I ate their Daing na Bangus. The Bangus was really fresh and the rice was heavenly - soft, served steaming hot and has an aroma that would really make you eat more.

The Lobby Area

Many people from Metro Manila have been booking in this hotel because its facilities are complete! Its the best place for gatherings, meetings, team buildings, seminars, and other recreational activities. The air is so fresh, cold, and clean! Some would even bring their bikes there. As of 2009, they already have the following facilities :

different types of rooms
swimming pool
gym and spa
Theater
basketball court (indoor and outdoor)
volleyball court
Tennis court
Wall Climbing
Diving Pool
TRACE Sports and Aquatic Museum
Sports Bar (underground : you can see the pool from below)

The Latest Mcdonald's Buzz : Huling El Bimbo Commercial

Just a few days ago, my former professor Ms. Aileen Apolo plurked about McDonalds' newest commercial, and just today, 5 of my friends in Multiply posted about the commercial too. What does this mean? yup! yup! yup! Mcdonald's Philippines has done it again!

Once again, they have produced a great commercial that has captured every Filipino's, or at least most Filipino's attention. The most capturing aspect of the commercial is the song Huling El Bimbo by The Eraserheads, and of course, the story of friendship and heartbreaking relationships. Mcdonald's always focuses on the idea that families, friends, lovers, and other groups of people from different walks of life go to Mcdonald's and experience memorable moments -- this may be a birthday, a get-together, a family lunch, a date, and in the case of the commercial, a relationship that was built in childhoold and a love that was strenthened but torn apart in adulthood = MEETING HIS FIRST LOVE AT McDONALDS. When I got to watch the commercial on YouTube, I was honestly teary-eyed! I even plurked about my reaction :

"Feeling ko may part 2 yan!!! Sana nagkatuluyan sila huhu!"
-my plurk reaction

I got so affected by the story line because it was about love that started off from childhood friendship. In addition, to make the Filipinos talk about it, they used the ever-so-famous-"Bigo"-ending of the nice, simple and humble guy being a little disappointed, and a little heart-broken for not having the girl for himself because he has loved her since they were kids, and she ended up with someone else.

Chorus of the Song Huling El Bimbo :
(I tried translating it haha bare with me)
"Magkahawak ang ating kamay
We were holding each others hands

At walang kamalaymalay
without even noticing

Na tinuruan mo ang puso ko
that you have taught my heart

Na umibig ng tunay"
how to love truly

So Freakin' Sweet Right?

Presenting!

the Newest, Cheeziest, McDonald's Commercial
"FIRST LOVE"

It's not TV, its HBO

HBO has always been so unique and creative in all its advertisements. My personal favorite is their short movie presentation with the letters "H, B, and O" being shown from different angles and symbols such as the train in the tunnel of "O", and the like. These are the ones shown before the actual movie will start. Truly, HBO has come up with a line that will forever fill up a space in my communication favorites.

Their new tag line that is "Its not TV, its HBO" is so self explanatory. It simply means that its not the flat screened TVs that gives us, the audience a movie experience of the lifetime, rather, its HBO. Home Box Office for me means the best movies.

Since I was a kid, HBO has been in my top 5 favorite channels. Sometimes I even wonder who picks the movies that are to be shown in HBO-Asia. I've always wanted to tell the person-in-charge-of-the-movie-lists that he has a very nice taste. Whenever its a Friday or a Saturday, and I'm at home, I just turn the channel to HBO because I know that when its a weekend, HBO will surely show the coolest movies!

Actually right now, I'm watching Shrek the Third! Haha! I've been waiting for this movie for so long! I even have the complete set of DVDs! LOL! Anyway, I blogged about HBO because their new tag line really caught my attention, not only because its so nice, but I was actually able to relate to it. It is very true, it is HBO that gives you the one of a kind experience in watching movies.

Well, cheers to HBO! =)
